Yumi: So, what will you do for your girlfriend on Valentine’s Day?
Bob: Good question Yumi.
Usually, I send her a dozen roses, give her some nice chocolate, and we go for a romantic dinner somewhere.
Not this year though.
This year, I’m planning something really special.
Yumi: Really? How romantic!
Fill me in.
What are you going to do?
Bob: Well first, I’m going to tell her that I’m sick in the morning so that she doesn’t expect anything.
It will be a complete surprise.
She will be expecting roses…but she won’t get any.
Then I’m going to ask her to come over and bring me some cold medicine.
When she arrives, she will be shocked!
I’m going to cook dinner instead of going to a fancy restaurant.
I’m going to make bacon wrapped steak with potatoes and a salad.
And for dessert … homemade cheesecake with fresh strawberries.
And I got a bottle of red wine and champagne.
I bought one hundred candles to put all over the place and I’ll play some classical music in the background.
I’ll still buy her roses, but they will be waiting for her at the house.
I’m making her a homemade Valentine’s card. I’ve decorated it with hearts, red roses and Cupid.
After dinner I will give her the Valentine’s card.
Inside the card instead of writing, “Will you be my valentine?”
I’m going to write, “Will you be my wife?”
And when she opens the card, I’m going to get down on one knee with a ring and ask her if she will marry me.
Yumi: Wow!
You are going to propose to her?
That is so sweet!!
That is SO romantic! I wish I could be a fly on the wall.
