ESL Conversation on Travel English How to Rent a Car

Mary:
Good morning sir. How can I help you today?

Darren:
Hi. I’d like to rent a car for three days. Just your basic model will be fine. I just need to get from A to B, so it doesn’t need to be fancy.

Mary:
Certainly sir. May I ask how many people will be travelling in the car? Is it just yourself, or wife and family?

Darren:
Just myself, thanks. I am here alone on business.

Mary:
Ok, I have the perfect car for you, a Toyota Camry. How does that sound?

Darren:
Sure, a Camry is fine. What time do I have to have it back?

Mary:
Just return it by closing time, 5.00 pm on Wednesday. May I have your details and credit card, please? There is a $100 deposit required which will be refunded to your card as long as there’s no damage and the tank is full, you’ll be refunded.
It’s $57 per day on top of that including insurance. A total of $271.

Darren:
Okay, that sounds a fair price. Thank you for that. I will see you in three days.

Mary:
Yes, sir. Thank you, here are the keys. I hope you enjoy your stay here.
