ESL Conversation about Upcoming Plans

Joey: It’s really empty in here tonight, isn’t it?

Tony: It sure is. It’s dead.

Joey: So, what’s new?

Tony: Actually, I’m really excited. I’m heading to Japan next week on business.

Joey: How cool?! How long are you going for?

Tony: I’ll be there just short of ten days. I leave on the seventeenth and I come back on the twenty-fifth.

Joey: Wow, that’s a really nice trip. Will you have any time to yourself while you are there?

Tony: Yes, I’ll take a couple of personal days in the middle and travel a bit.

Joey: Do you have anything special planned?

Tony: Lots actually. I’m going to hit some temples in Kyoto and then hop on the bullet train down to Hiroshima.

Joey: Sounds great! Do you like Japanese food?

Tony: Yes, I am a huge fan of it. Samantha and I regularly eat out at a great little spot called Sakura. The kids really love it too.

Joey: That’s great. What else do you have planned?

Tony: Well, I really lucked out because I will be there when the sumo tournament is on.

Joey: Lucky! I don’t know much about sumo, but it looks pretty interesting. Do you have any plans to sing karaoke?

Tony: Of course, I love karaoke.

Joey: Yes, I bet it will be a blast.

Tony: I will fill you in on all of the details when I get back for sure. Let’s grab another beer.
